I was able to make a difficult decision this week using a really cool technique, and I want to share it with you today!

I just started taking a class called Adult Psychopathology, because I wanted to get more clinical experience and possibly even an LPC (license professional counselor) license. It was a lot of extra work, though, and I found myself wondering if it was working in harmony with my work as a Life Coach or detracting from it.

It was hard to decide by reasoning. On the one hand, learning more is always advantageous. But the time I would spend on it would be time spent away from Life Coaching, which isn’t clinically based. I wasn’t sure if it was worth it.

Meanwhile, I’ve been reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly recommend it! Initially I thought it would be a collection of success stories with tips on how to stay focused on goals, but it really isn’t. I think it’s really about using the Law of Attraction to encourage financial abundance. There are some pretty “out there” ideas in the book that are ahead of its time.  We talk openly about things like Law of Attraction nowadays, but it’s pretty crazy to think these ideas were being proposed in the mainstream when the book was written in 1937.

The Decision Making Tip I want to share with you is inspired by one Napoleon Hill used and talked about in his book. You can use this for more than just making decisions, though–it’s also a way to increase you vibration and incorporate traits into your personality that you admire most in others.

Check out my video below to learn more about the unusual technique Napoleon Hill used, and how I used it to make my HUGE decision.

Leave a comment and share your experience with this technique or how you could use it.

I would love to hear your experiences with this! It is such a creative approach, and I’m sure there are many variations we can come up with :)

P.S. I talk about a visualization I did to connect with my Higher Self in this video. If you want to learn more or try another, check out my article How to Invoke Your Higher Self

  1. I love “Think And Grow Rich” …I listened to the audio book as well as read the book. I believe in that exercise. Last summer I wanted to do the exercise and surrounded myself with people I admire. The thing for me is at that time I don’t think it worked because I was aligned with my true purpose. The people I surrounded myself were great people but I don’t think I related with any of them in a way that could have opened me up to getting answers. Maybe it’s because I just need to practice more. I loved to hear about the experience and the results you had with doing the exercise. This makes me want to try again. Have a great week! ~ Nathalie

    • Thank you so much for sharing Nathalie! This exercise is quite challenging and I think it does take some practice. I tried doing it just like Napoleon Hill also, where I imagined a whole room full of people I admire and it quickly became chaotic and hard to manage! It’s also a little scary (as Napoleon Hill himself mentioned), but I imagine it gets easier with time. So many skills come into play: visualization skills, facing fear, conflict resolution…I can totally understand and relate

  2. Didn’t know I had a higher self! LOL, but I did enjoy the video! Guess, I need to reread that book.

  3. Staying in touch with our Higher Selves is when I believe we start living our True Lives as who we came into the world to be. As one who lives in a major metropolitan city – it is always a challenge to back away from the fast pace world and do the spiritual work…..but every time I have found it to be worth it. Thanks for sharing :-)

  4. Hi Christina! Yes, I love this experiential way to connect in with all aspects of myself. I believe that we are all One and it makes complete sense that we can tap into the collective consciousness when making decisions. To me, tapping into the collective consciousness is tapping into the universal library. I always check in with my body when I receive its information on whether the information makes me feel lighter or heavier. Great video. I admire your work.

  5. Great video!
Connecting with our higher self is a great resource to get immediate responses about what is stopping us to get where we want.
Our brain has an infinite potential and we only use 4 to 5% of it.
Thanks Christina for sharing and thanks to Napoleon Hill!
